As an in-house designer for Alaska’s largest health and fitness company, The Alaska Club, I create a wide range of marketing collateral that supports brand awareness, member engagement, and business growth across multiple locations.
Collaborating closely with the marketing team, I design print and digital assets that align with established brand standards while effectively communicating promotions, services, and events. From concept development to final production, I manage projects using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop to deliver polished, high-quality designs to connect with both current members and prospective customers.
Below are some examples of my recent work
Project Brief: 40th Anniversary Full-Page Magazine Advertisement
Project Overview:
To celebrate The Alaska Club's 40th anniversary, I designed a full-page advertisement for Alaska Business Magazine that showcased the club's long-standing presence in Alaska's health and wellness community. The advertisement was created to capture attention in a competitive print environment while reinforcing the club's established brand and broad range of offerings.
The design needed to be bold, bright, and highly visible to readers, while remaining professional and appealing to the magazine's business-minded audience. Through strategic layout, compelling imagery, and clear messaging, the ad highlighted the club's diverse amenities, including fitness facilities, group exercise classes, aquatics, personal training, family programs, and wellness services
Design Objectives:
- Create a bold, eye-catching full-page ad for a competitive magazine environment
- Celebrate The Alaska Club’s 40th anniversary while reinforcing brand identity
- Highlight the full range of club amenities in a clear, engaging way
- Balance bright, energetic visuals with a professional tone for business readers
- Ensure strong visual hierarchy and print-ready production quality
Software Used: Adobe InDesign

Bus Ads
The Alaska Club places quarterly bus advertisements throughout the state, with each campaign focusing on a different theme or audience. The first ad below promotes the Kids Winter Camp program, while the second serves as a general brand advertisement highlighting The Alaska Club’s overall amenities and offerings.
Project Overview:
This project involved designing a bus advertisement for The Alaska Club promoting its Winter Break Camp program. The ad was created for high-visibility placement in public transit environments, requiring a bold and immediate visual impact to quickly capture attention from families and commuters. The design communicated key program details while highlighting the camp as a fun, active, and safe holiday option for children during school break.
Design Objectives:
- Create a bold, high-contrast design that is easily readable at a distance and in motion
- Clearly communicate Winter Break Camp as a fun, active, and family-friendly program
- Maintain strong brand consistency with The Alaska Club’s visual identity
- Prioritize simple messaging with a clear call to action for quick comprehension-
- Use engaging, seasonal visuals that reflect winter and holiday energy while appealing to parents

This is the Ad I wanted to use and feel is much stronger.

This is the Ad that was reworked and chosen by management.

Project Overview:
This project involved designing a bus advertisement promoting The Alaska Club’s adult amenities, positioned to engage commuters and the wider public in a high-visibility transit environment. The concept was centered around New Year motivation and fitness resolutions, encouraging adults to take action on their health and wellness goals.
A key creative element was the headline “Let’s Get Moving,” which I developed as a double entendre—referencing both the motion of the bus itself and the seasonal mindset of getting active and recommitting to fitness in the new year.

Design Objectives:
- Create a bold, attention-grabbing transit ad optimized for quick readability and distance viewing.
- Promote The Alaska Club’s adult fitness and wellness amenities in a clear and motivating way.
- Align messaging with New Year resolution themes to increase relevance and engagement.
- Incorporate a strong, memorable headline (“Let’s Get Moving”) that reinforces both brand and context.
- Maintain cohesive brand identity while using energetic, lifestyle-focused visuals to inspire action
In- Club Advertising
Project Overview:
This project involved designing an in-club promotional poster for The Alaska Club’s 80s Week group fitness theme, created as part of the brand’s 40th anniversary celebrations (founded in 1986). The campaign was designed to bring energy and nostalgia into the club environment, encouraging member participation in themed group fitness classes inspired by 1980s culture. The poster needed to feel bold, fun, and highly visible within fitness spaces while reinforcing the anniversary milestone.
Design Objectives:
- Create a vibrant, attention-grabbing poster suitable for in-club display
- Celebrate The Alaska Club’s 40th anniversary through an 80s-inspired retro theme
- Encourage member engagement and participation in group fitness classes
- Ensure clear hierarchy of information for quick readability in a busy gym environmen
